Neurological disorders are medically defined as disorders that affect the brain as well as the nerves found throughout the human body and the spinal cord. These three parts of the body work together and are referred to as the central nervous system that control everything in the body. Neurology is the medical science that deals with the nervous system and disorders that affect it.
Conditions that are classed as mental disorders, or learning disabilities and forms of Intellectual disability, are not themselves usually dealt with as neurological disorders.
Social Security approves disability benefits for serious cases of epilepsy, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, and other nerve-based diseases.
